RBE No. 80/2008: Special Allowance – To Safety Officers

No.E(P&A)I/2008/SP-1/WS-1, dated 04.07.2008

Sub:  Grant of Special Allowance to Chief Safety Officers/Safety Officers.

1.     The proposal regarding provision of Special Allowance to Chief Safety Officer/ Safety Officer on the line of PCO Allowance being given to SSEs/ SEs posted in Production Control Organization in terms of Board’s letter No.E(P&A)I-99/SP-1/WS-1, dated 10.08.1999 (RBE No. 193/1999) was under consideration of the Board.

2.     It has been decided that Senior Supervisors of workshop cadre (whether working in workshops or PCO) when deputed as Chief Safety Officers/ Safety Officers may be granted Special Allowance @ 7.5% (at the same rate as that of PCO Allowance).

3.     Others terms and conditions as contained in Board’s letter No.E(P&A)I-99/SP-1/WS-1, dated 10.08.1999 (RBE No. 193/1999) will remain same.

4.     These orders take effect from the date of issue of this letter.

5.     This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
