Sub: Recommendation No.67 of the Railway Accidents Enquiry Committee, 1978 (Sikri Committee) – Implementation of.
Ref: Railway Board’s letter No.E(G)2004 FE1-5, dated 16.09.2004 (RBE No.204/2004).

As per extent instructions Railway Officers and Sr. Supervisor are permitted 90% reimbursement of annual/life membership fee in respect of taking up membership of professional Institutions/Societies. Railway Board have recognized professional Institutions/Societies from different discipline for this purpose.

In the course of examination of proposals for 90% reimbursement of membership fee received from Railway Units, it has come to notice that Railway Officers are also claiming the amount paid towards registration fee, admission fee etc., along with the annual/life membership fee. In this regard it is clarified that 90% reimbursement is admissible only in respect of annual/Life membership fee and no reimbursement is admissible in respect of amount other than membership fee like Registration Fee, Admission Fee, etc.

This issue the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
