RBE No. 101/2019: Promotion – Console Operator – Single Stage Examination

Sub: Single stage examination for filling up the posts of Console Operator (both PRS & UTS).

As the Railway administration are aware, the posts of Console Operator (both PRS & UTS) are being filled up as per instructions contained in Railway Board’s letter No.E(NG)I/87/PM 16/3, dated 15.02.1993 (RBE No. 29/1993).
On a reference from one of the Zonal Railways, the procedure enumerated in the aforesaid instructions for filling up the posts of Console Operator has been reviewed in consultation with the Commercial Directorate and it has been decided that henceforth a single stage examination (duly including questions on Aptitude Test/ Computer Knowledge) may be conducted as part of selection procedure for filling up the posts of Console Operator (both PRS & UTS). This examination may preferably be conducted in ‘online’/ CBT mode.
(This also disposes of Southern Railway’s letter No.P(S)608/III/UTS/Vol-I, dated 28.01.2019 and Central Railway’s letter No.C.CRS.BB-105.Open Line Org, dated 23.10.2017).

    i have joined in Indian railway in 1983 as clerk-2 in scale 260-400.Then i got promotion in 1985 as senior clerk in scale 330-560.then i selected though departmentaly as data entry operator in scale 1350-2200 in 1988. In 1993 i get a promotion console operator in scale 1600-2660. In 2001 i got promotion as senior console operator in scale 2000-3200. At present my grade pay is 4600. As per recruitment rules my grade pay is correct.
    I am waiting for your answer.
