RBE No. 22/2006: Conduct Rules – Rule 11 – Amendment to IREC – ACS No.97

Sub: Amendment to Rule 11 of the Railway Services (Conduct) Rules, 1966.

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby directs that Rule 11 of the Railway Services (Conduct) Rules, 1966, contained in Appendix-I of the Indian Railway Establishment Code, Vol-I, Fifth Edition-1985 (2003 Reprint) may be amended as in the Advance Correction Slip No.97 follows:

Appendix-I, the Railway Services (Conduct) Rules, 1966:-
In the Railway Services (Conduct) Rules, 1966, for Rule 11, the following Rule shall be substituted namely:-

“11. Communication of Official Information:- Every Railway servant shall, in the performance of his duty in good faith, communicate information to a person in accordance with the Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005) and the Rules made there under;
Provided that no Railway servant shall, except in accordance with any general or special orders of the Government or in the performance in good faith of the duties assigned to him, communicate directly or indirectly any Official Document or any part thereof or classified information to any Railway servant or any other person to whom he is not authorized to communicate such document or classified information.”
