RBE No. 136/2018: Apprentices – Selection for training

Sub: System improvement regarding selection of Apprentices for training under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

1. Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has reviewed the Para 4B(xiv) and 4B(xvii) of Board’s letter No.E(MPP)/2009/6/14Pt., dated 06.10.2015 (RBE No. 120/2015) and decided to (i) extend the time limit for issuing merit list with the approval of Competent Authority from 15 days to 45 days of closing date of receipt of applications and (2) Permit engagement of Apprentices from merit list without any time limit upto the notified vacancies within the financial year.
2. In view of the above, the Para 4B(xiv) and 4B(xvii) of the instructions issued vide Board’s letter No.E(MPP)/2009/6/14Pt., dated 06.10.2015 (RBE No. 120/2015) stands amended.
3. This disposes of letter No.E(R&T)120/10/Vol.XXII, dated 10.06.2018 of PCPO/WR.
