Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk: RBE No.69/2024 – Medical Standard for CC/TC

Sub: Relaxation in the medical standard to the post of Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk in Level-3 in Commercial Department – clarification.

Ref: Board’s letter No.E(NG)I/2018/RR-1/40 Pt., dated 28.02.2019.

1. Attention is drawn to Board’s letter under reference wherein, inter alia, it was stipulated that the medical classification of the unified category of Commercial and Ticketing staff category would be Bee Two (B-2). However, such revision of medical classification does not affect/impact existing employees of the Commercial Department.

2. One of the Zonal Railways and recognised Federation (i.e. NFIR) have sought clarification as to whether the employees of the Commercial Department, who qualify in the written test for the post of CC/TC in Level-3 against 33-1/3% quota are eligible for empanelment when they are declared unfit in ‘Bee-Two’ but fit in ‘Cee-One’ in terms of instruction contained in para 3 of the Board’s letter dated 28.02.2019 ibid.

3. The matter has been examined in Board’s office in consultation with Commercial dte. and Health Directorate. It is clarified that for selection to the combined cadre of CC/TC, the medical classification of the combined cadre (B-Two) shall apply, subject to the provision that existing Commercial staff should undergo re-medical before being called for the examination for the new medical category of CC cum TC.

4. This disposes of the letter of S.C. Railway no. SCR/PQ/205/EC/AVC, dated 23.08.2023.
