Age Limit: RBE No.194/1985 – 20% Quota for Intermediate Apprentices

Sub: Relaxation of Upper Age Limit for filling up the vacancies of Signal Telecom Inspectors grade-III against Intermediate Apprentice quota in scale Rs.425-700(RS) – Signal and Telecom, Engineering Department.
1. Reference this Ministry’s letter No.E(NG)I-81/PM 1/173, dated 26.08.1981 on the above subject.
2. The age limit of rankers for promotion to the post of Signal Block Inspectors and Telecommunication Inspectors Grade-III in scale Rs.425-700 (RS) against 20% quota for Intermediate Apprentices has been fixed as 40 years vide this Ministry’s letter dated 26.08.1981 referred to above.
3. The NFIR raised the demand in the PNM that age limit for rankers for promotion to the post of Signal Block Inspectors/ Telecom Inspectors grade-III scale Rs.425-700 against Intermediate Apprentice quota should be raised to 45 years as in the case of promotion of rankers against Intermediate Apprentice quota for the post of Chargemen TXRs scale Rs.425-700. Pursuant to discussions in the PNM/NFIR Meeting held with the Board on 13/17.05.1985 it has been decided that the present are limit of 40 years for promotion of rankers as Signal Block Inspectors/ Telecom Inspectors grade-III scale Rs.425-700 against Intermediate Apprentice quota may be raised to 45 years with immediate effect.
