Sub:  Absence of Railway Staff on account of Bundhs etc. – Regulation.

The Railway Board vide their letter No.E(LU)II. 71. ST 2/9, dated 29.11.1972, had issued instructions regarding regulation of absence of Railway Staff on account of Bundh etc. Further, instructions had also been issued vide Railway Board’s letter No.E(LR)II. 79. ST 2/2, dated 24.08.1979, according to which Heads of Departments are competent to grant Special Casual Leave regulating the absence of Railway staff on account of Bundhs ete. Copies of Board’s letters dated 29.11.1972 and 24.08.1979 are enclosed.

The Railway Board reiterate that these instructions should be complied with carefully to ensure uniformity of action unless some specific instructions are issued for any particular bundh.
