No.E(W)-82 PS5-1/6, dated 09.04.1985
Sub: School passes to the student sons/ daughters of Railway employees studying in Post-graduate courses.
Ref: Ministry of Railway’s letter of even number dated 23.05.1983 & your replies thereto.
The question for the grant of school passes to the student sons of the Railway employees studying in various Post-graduate courses/ Research work, etc. has been carefully considered by the Ministry of Railways and it has been decided that no further liberalization to the existing provision is feasible. Where, however, student son/ daughter of a Railway employee is in receipt of a stipend as distinct from merit/ means scholarship, the school pass will not be admissible if the studying son/ daughter is above 21 years of age. In case any such school pass has been given without approval of the Railway Board, the same may be withdrawn immediately. Such students are also not eligible to be included in the privilege passes/ P.T.Os. of their parents.
