RBE No. 185/1986: Fixation of Pay – Running Staff

Sub: Calculation of existing emoluments for initial fixation of pay in revised scales – Running Staff.
1. Some of the Railways have sought confirmation weather while calculating ‘existing emoluments’ under Rule 7 of Railway Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1986, notified under this Department’s No.PCIV/86/RSRP/1, dated 19.09.1986 (RBE No. 168/1986), Dearness Pay, Additional Dearness Allowance, Ad hoc Dearness Allowance, First and Second installment of Interim Relief for Running Staff should be calculated on basic pay plus 30% of basic pay. It is confirmed that for Running Staff the term ‘existing emoluments’ under Rule 7 shall include Dearness Pay, Additional Dearness Allowance, Ad hoc Dearness Allowance, First and Second installments of Interim Relief calculated on basic pay plus 30% basic pay in the existing scale as is already being paid to them under extant orders.
