Sub: Promotion of employees as Publicity Inspectors(Grade Rs.1400-2300) in the Public Relation Organization.

It has come to the notice of the Board that no uniform procedure is being followed by Railway Administrations in filling up the posts of Publicity Inspectors in grade Rs.1400-2300 in the Public Relation Organizations. The matter has been considered carefully and it has now been decided that vacancies in these posts may be filled, on the basis of a departmental competitive examination, from amongst the graduate Railway employees, who have completed five years service in Group ‘C’ in any of the Departments of the Railway and are not above 35 years of age. All things being equal, preference will be given to employees holding Diploma in Public Relations/ Journalism/ Advertising/ Mass Communication from a recognized Institute/ University.
Employees selected as Publicity Inspectors (Rs.1400-2300) will be imparted 45 days training in the Zonal Training Schools and will be attached to Newspapers/ AIR/ Doordarshan for a period of two weeks, before being put to a working post as indicated in Railway Board’s letter No.E(MPP)/69/3/1, dated 03.02.1989.
