Para-medical Staff: RBE No.33/2020 – Hiring on Contract Basis

Sub: Extension of the scheme of hiring of para-medical categories in Group ‘C’ on contract basis.
Ref: This office letter No.E(NG)II/2005/RC4/SC/2, dated 31.05.2019 (RBE No. 88/2019).

Keeping in view the outbreak of Corona Virus disease, the issue of extension of the scheme of hiring of para-medical categories in Group ‘C’ on contract basis beyond 31.03.2020 has been considered by the Board.
It has been decided that the scheme may be extended for a further period of six months beyond 31.03.2020 i.e. upto 30.09.2020, on the terms and conditions as stipulated in Board’s letter of even number dated 25.06.2014 and No.2017/Trans/01/Policy/Pt.I, dated 12.04.2018. It must be ensured that suitable break is invariably given between successive contracts. Efforts may also be made to appoint fresh candidates for the above contract. This extension of hiring of para-medical staff would be subject to the condition that contractual staff will be discharged immediately on joining of Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) selected candidates if there is no vacancy available to post RRB selected candidates. It may please be ensured that total regular staff on roll and contractual engagements will not exceed the sanctioned strength of the cadre.
This issues with the concurrence of Finance Dte. of the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board).
